Complete guide: how to build your wedding seating plan
The seating plan is one of the most stressful tasks for couples. Deciding who sits with whom, avoiding family conflicts, balancing tables and making sure nobody is left out. All with 100, 200 or more guests.
Planivia turns this process into something visual and intuitive. You sketch your venue's layout, place tables wherever you want and drag guests to each table with a single click or tap. If something doesn't fit, rearrange in seconds. No paper, no sticky notes, no spreadsheets.

When should I build the seating plan?
The ideal time to start is 1-2 months before the wedding, once you have most confirmations. But you can prepare the structure earlier: define the number of tables, their shape (round, square, long) and layout in the room. That way, when final confirmations arrive, you just have to place people.
Tips for a great seating plan
Types of wedding tables
Round tables (8-10 people) are most popular because they make conversation easier. Long tables (12-20 people) add an elegant touch and work well in narrow rooms. Square tables (4-8 people) are ideal for intimate weddings. Planivia supports all formats and you can mix them in the same layout.
